Kesavadev Trust |
Kesavadev Trust is a charity organization in memory of Late P.Kesavadev. Kesavadev being a known literary personality, the trust is active in the literary field as well. ‘Diabscreen Kerala’ is a major diabetic detection, awareness, prevention and treatment campaign of the trust being conducted at various geographical locations.

The eminent poet Dr.Indrababu bagged P.Kesavadev Trust Memorial Kesavadev Award. The award was selected by the committee, chaired by Dr. George Onakkoor and consisted of Shri. B.D.Dattan and Dr. Deshamangalam Ramakrishnan. Trust patron Shri.P.Govindapillai announced the results at a press conference. The award was given away by Honorable PWD Minister Dr.M.K.Muneer. Kesavadev award in 2004 was specifically for somebody who has excelled in poetry and social work, but less than 40 years of age.

P.Kesavadev award ceremony and 102 nd birthday celebrations were inaugurated today by Hon Cultural Minister Shri.M.A Baby. Shri.M.A Baby presented the awards to .Mohanan(Asianet) and Mrs.Pushpa.M (Manorama,Vanitha, Kottayam) The minister announced that P.Kesavadev is remembered for his invaluable contributions to the growth of socio cultural backbone of modern Kerala. He stayed with the poor and downtrodden and strived for their socio economic progress:he said.
Prof.O.N V Kurup delivered P.Kesavadev memorial lecture.The famous poet recalled several episodes which should be part of the histoty of Kerala literature in which Kesavadev and himself were involved. Responding to the request made by Jothydev, the minister announced that the goverment will come forward for a proposal to come out with a statue of P.Kesavadev which will be a lasting monument in memory of the great leader.
Dr.George Onakkur, Dr.Ahamed Pillai, Seethalekshmydev(Chairperson), Peethambara Kurup, P.GovindaPillai(Trust Patron), V Sivankutty MLA were etc. spoke. Mohanan and Pushpa also spoke. Mohan made a speech in which he recalled the great works of Kesavadev as a novelist and social reformist. Pushpa in her reply said that she consider the "Diabscreen Kerala" award for the best health article as a recognition for all the lady journalists in Kerala. |
